Each year, over 100 million tons of fiber are produced worldwide to be used in textile production. One million tons of dye, 42 million tons of chemical substances and 93 billion m3 of water are consumed in this process, and 1.2 billion tons of greenhouse gas emissions release. While 48 million tons of the clothing produced after all these processes are thrown away, 75% of the products that are considered to be end-of-life textiles are incinerated or buried in the ground.

The World's Fiber from Aksa
Affiliated with one of Turkey's established industry groups, Akkök Holding, Aksa Akrilik Kimya Sanayi A.Ş. was founded in 1968 in Yalova to meet Turkey's acrylic fiber needs. It started production in 1971 with a capacity of 5000 tons/year.
