A "NEWBORN" AT FASHION WEEK ISTANBUL
Designer Hatice Gökçe created a new collection for the 2022 Autumn-Winter Season with the contributions of Baksı Museum and Aksa Akrilik's Acrycycle brand, and introduced us not only to a clothing collection but also to a stylish manifesto. She prepared a collection for Fashion Week Istanbul that everyone can wear for years with ehram fabric unique to the Bayburt Region and Acrycycle, a recycled acrylic fiber.
The Newborn 2022 Fall-Winter collection brings wool’s past, present and future together. Hatice Gökçe, who is excited to declare to the whole world her respect to the past through Ihram fabric, her commitment to the present with the 100% natural pure wool fabric manufactured by İpekiş, and her hope for tomorrow through Acrycycle, the fiber of the future, once again reveals her never-ending passion for texture with this collection.
As a tribute to nature with the Newborn collection, as she named it, she presents us with 95% environmentally-friendly materials. The entire collection, which contains 24 looks prepared with knits made with barcoded and traceable recycled acrylic fiber Acrycyle, has been produced from environmentally-friendly fabrics.
Expressing her excitement to present Ihram to the world, and that this precious fabric may not
be described as a regional fabric as it represents the respect to the history of wool, Hatice
Gökçe has also designed a capsule collection for Baksı Museum, consisting of 30 different models
with Ihram which she uses for her own collection. The Ihrams in this collection of practical and
elegant designs offer double-sided use with two different fabrics inside and out and were
produced using the old looms collected in the region and designed to transform the fabric into
clothing with minimum waste.
With Acrycycle, a recycled acrylic fiber, it is possible to leave a more livable future for the
coming generations. When you buy a product made with the technology of the fiber of the future
that respects the environment through disciplined work, it gives you the most comfortable and
long-lasting way of showing your respect for nature with 30% less carbon emissions and 86% less
water consumption.
With Acrycycle, made from its own production wastes and possessing the identical characteristics
and quality of newly manufactured fiber, environmental pollution is prevented since wastes are
integrated into the production cycle instead of being disposed of by burying in landfills. The
products made with this fiber are long-lasting and do not become deformed, retaining their
original characteristics for years. Hence, it helps reduce the use of resources required for
reproduction by lowering the need for a new product. The waste generated during the production
process is made into products again with current technology.
